I have been looking forward to this wedding for a loooong time! Ever since I photographed this lovely couple at their engagement session, I’ve been counting down. They put a tremendous amount of work to make the day truly special and unique. And it paid off-it was a beautiful day filled with genuine beautiful moments. Such fun details as well, from the grooms fly fishing boutineer, the bridesmaids has fantastic robes, the brides boots, the thank you gifts and more. I loved when Rachel saw her Dad for the first time, when the groom danced with his mother, and especially when Rachel and Chris saw each other walking down the aisle. As I mentioned in their engagement post, these two have ‘it’…that deep love, the type of love you see and can only hope you also find or already have. Congratulations, and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for you! Thank you so much for letting us capture your day, and a huge thanks to my 2nd photographer Beth, who is simply the best.
A sweet new baby girl! I was beyond thrilled to hear that news that Josephine was born, and even more delighted to photograph her. Big brother Cole was really excited and wanted to hold her the entire time! At one point during the session, Josephine gently held Coles face, and started kissing (sucking) on his cheek and it was the sweetest moment. Alison and Bryan are truly wonderful parents, and I am glad they are now a family of 4 (5 if you include their adorable dog!) I am honored to photograph the journey of Josephines first year with more sessions at 6 months and 1 year!
I have been lucky to photograph the lovely Karp family for years (started with the Faces of Louisville, maternity photos, Lilas newborn session and now these little twin boys!) This is why I truly love what I do, the genuine relationships I create, I cherish them. Josh and Melanie are such wonderful people, parents, and a part of the Louisville community. Thank you for trusting me to capture another chapter in your life story. Wyatt and Hayes are two very special, very loved boys.
Oh my, such a stunning engagement session with these two. A gorgeous couple, a beautiful summer night, the mountains, a truck, dogs, and the smell of fresh cut hay. All of these elements and more came together and I could not have asked for anything better. I am beyond honored to capture their wedding at this same location next June, and I cannot wait. Chris and Rachel are totally in love and they have ‘it’. You know what I mean when I say ‘it’, the couple you see on the dance floor and think, they have ‘it’. The love everyone hopes to find; full of beauty, adventure, laughter, truth, depth, romance, and the type of love you cannot stand to spend a day without the other person. Thats what these two have. It.
Brie kicked off our 2016 seniors a week ago. And no kidding, I think it was the first night that was perfect in weeks (no rain, yeah!) Her style is fun, relaxed, and she is a free spirit. All of these equal a beautiful session with an exceptional young lady. I loved that she has a genuine smile and laugh, and was willing to do a few crazy things and go along with my ideas. My goal with each senior is to create a session tailored to them. I enjoy scouting out new locations, and for Brie, we did her last photos in front of a mural. I’ve actually had that location in my back pocket for a few years, and I was waiting for the right person, and Brie was just that person. Thank you Brie for such a fun evening photographing you!
A year ago, I put on my hiking boots and climbed Hoosier Pass (elevation 11,539) to photograph Jay and Jenaes elopement. It was incredible. Truly. Nothing I have ever done before in my lifetime of photographing weddings. Jay and Jenae rented a beautiful secluded cabin, got ready separately, and then saw one another for the first time on top of the mountain. It was breathtaking (literally) and I am truly honored I was able to photograph this for them. Happy Anniversary to one the best couples out there.
The Berman family will soon be 4! I’ve had the chance to get to know this family over the years, and I couldn’t be more excited for them. They selected our ‘Baby’s First Year’ collection which means I get to photograph the newborn session, 6 month and 1 year. Truly a great way to document how fast the first year goes. I love getting to know a family, and this time around Cole and I really hit it off, especially when I taught him my banana song (you too can see this but you have to ask!) I simply cannot wait to get the call to come visit their home for their newborn session soon!
What a delight to photograph Geoff and Ashley. We shot in downtown Denver at some fantastic locations, and I am in love with their photos! Lately, the weather in Colorado has been a tad unpredictable, and on their photo day, it was rainy and a tad chilly (but better than the following day when it snowed on Mothers Day!) but that did not hold us back! And Ashley rocked dresses and sleeveless shirts! In a way, I am thankful, because it meant we created unique images at gorgeous inside locations (and a few outside as well!) Geoff and Ashley, you are the definition of a classy couple, and I appreciate the effort & planning you put into your session. I simply cannot wait for your June wedding!
One of the reasons I love my job is the constant change. I enjoying shooting at new locations, therefore I am always looking, finding new secret spots. I want to create unique locations for my clients and simply, bring them the best. Photography means, ‘to paint with light’ and that is a huge part of my job. To create light, to find the right light and to make it glow. I scouted this spot a few days ago and who better to test it on then my own kiddos! We were actually having kind of a tough day, and thats when I said lets go outside. I put a dress on Stella and grabbed a nice shirt for Oliver (which he refused to put on at first) got out the bikes and rode to this spot. Did I have to bribe with them with suckers? Yep. And when we got there it was perfect light. I convinced Oliver to try on his nice shirt and then we started shooting. Stella was all over it, Oliver, not so much in the beginning. Like all photo sessions, we warm up a bit, we play, talk and most important, let the kids be themselves. Then the magic starts to happen…Stella and Oliver hugged one another. Then Oliver picks flowers for me. And Stella takes a moment to smell the flowers. These moments melt my heart. Now, you might be thinking, these are great because they are HER kids. Well, let me tell ya (and other photographers would agree) shooting your own children is tricky. They are still kids, they also act like little stinkers and get away with more. But I am also here to tell you, this is my job and I am always up for a chanllenge and I’m good at it. We play, we have fun, and we capture the moments in photo sessions. Because, I know when I look back at these photos, I will cherish them. They don’t stay little forever.
Lets be honest, when it comes to Mothers Day, it can be hard to think of a gift idea. Try something new this year-give Mom a photo session. Not only that, but a gallery canvas and bonus of 5 digital files (to share on social media and with printing rights) She will cherish this for years to come. This is a full photo shoot (not a mini one) which means we will do many combinations, and take our time creating stunning photographs. The location is up to you: our studio, your home, outdoor location or lets come up with a creative idea. We are always scouting locations for the best backdrops! Contact the studio today, and we will send out a custom gift certificate.
